Groundnut Chutney Pudi ( Powder )

Posted by Veena Karanth at 07:25:00
Groundnut chutney powder is a spicy dry chutney-like substance which can be eaten along with dosa, idli, chapathi, and even with rice. It is famous in north Karnataka areas. The chutney prepared in those areas is extremely spicy. But here, I have decreased the amount of chillies, and so it is not that spicy. You can preserve this for more than a month. It is ideal for lunch box.

Instead of taking the trouble of preparing chutneys especially in the busy mornings, you can substitute it with this chutney pudi.

Method To Make Groundnut Chutney Powder

  • Heat a pan and add groundnuts in to it.

  • Switch off the flame and allow the groundnuts to cool.
  • After cooling, place a few groundnuts between your palms and just rub it gently so that the outer cover gets peeled off automatically.

  • Run the mixer till the ingredients are turned into a fine powder.
  • Now, transfer it into a air tight bottle and use whenever required.

Kitchen Masti Points

  1. You can use half the quantity of byadige chilli ( red chilli ) and for the remaining half, you can use guntur chillies too, if you wish to have a very hot and spicy chutney powder.
  2. See to it that the chutney powder does not come into direct contact with the moisture content or else the chutney powder will be spoilt immediately.
  3. The quantity of the garlic can be varied as per your taste.
  4. You can also add 1 tsp of coconut oil to this chutney powder and consume it along with hot rice
