Broccoli Paratha / Parantha Recipe

Today I am going to share an unique recipe which is really delicious and sumptuous. As all of you know parathas are prepared out of different types of stuffings like aloo paratha, mooli paratha, methi paratha and so on. But this recipe which I am posting today is a stuffing prepared out of a vegetable called Broccoli.
Broccoli, basically is an Italian name, and belongs to the cabbage family but resembles a cauliflower with a flower on its head.It is a vegetable which is rich in many nutrients and it possesses many anti -cancer properties.

How To Prepare Broccoli Paratha.

This dish requires roughly around 30 minutes to prepare and the process to prepare this is simple and easy.

Ingredients For Broccoli Paratha.


  • Wheat flour - 1 cup.
  • Water - 1 / 2 cup.
  • Salt - as required.
  • Oil - 1 tbsp.
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 tsp.

Ingredients For Stuffing


  • Broccoli - 1 piece
  • Salt - As required
  • Green Chili Paste - 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala - 1 tsp
  • Lemon Juice - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 / 2 tsp.
  • Coriander Leaves - A few sprigs
  • Onion - 1

Method To Make Broccoli Paratha


  • Take a big mixing bowl and add the wheat flour in it.
  • Add a little warm water.
  • Mix in salt, red chili powder to it and knead a soft and smooth dough.
  • Smear it with a little oil and let the dough rest for around half an hour.
  • Mean while let's get the stuffing ready.
  • For this, you have to scrap the broccoli with a scrapper into fine pieces. Keep it aside.
  • Heat a pan with a tsp of oil in it.
  • Add chopped onion, salt, green chili paste, garam masala, lemon juice, turmeric and chopped coriander leaves into it.
  • Mix it well for around 2 - 3 minutes.
  • Switch off the flame.
  • Now roll out a big lemon sized ball out of the chapathi dough.
  • Dust the rolling surface with a little flour and place the ball over it.
  • Roll it into small circle and place 1 tbsp of broccoli stuffing over it.
  • Cover it completely by closing all the sides of the circle to form a ball once again.
  • Dust the ball with the flour and roll out a big circle.
  • Heat a nonstick skillet and roast the paratha on both the sides smearing butter.
  • Transfer it on to the serving plate when brown spots appear on both the sides.

Your spicy and unique Broccoli Paratha is ready to be served.!!!

  1. Adding chili powder to the chapathi dough is optional.
  2. Kneading the dough with warm water  helps the parathas to be more softer.
  3. You can roast the paratha with ghee also.
  4. Parathas are usually served with raithas, or garlic chutney.
