  • Heat a pan and fry the sesame seeds for around 15 minutes. Keep it aside for some time to allow it to cool down. Now, transfer the sesame seeds into a mixer jar and run the mixer for a few seconds. Later on, rub the sesame seeds between your palms to roughly remove the outer skin.
  • Meanwhile heat another deep pan.
  • Add the scraped jaggery pieces and 1 / 2 cup of water along with it.
  • Keep stirring until you get single thread consistency.
  • Take a big mixing bowl and transfer the sesame seeds into it.
  • Add the hot jaggery mixture ( Bella paka ) to the sesame seeds.
  • Leave it aside for a minute.
  • Add the coconut scrapings and mix well.
  • Grease your fingers with ghee and take a small portion of the sesame mixture in your palm and form small balls out of it.
  • Transfer it onto the serving plate.

Your sesame laddu is now ready to be served.!!!

Kitchen Masti points.

  1. Roasting the sesame seeds is very important or else the mixture may taste bitter.
  2. Consistency of jaggery is very important.Thread type of consistency is a must. If you cannot attain thread type consistency, then, you may find it difficult to shape it into balls.
  3. Similarly too much of  jaggery consistency will harden the sesame mixture and the laddoos will turn out to be very hard.
  4. You can add cashew pieces to the sesame mixture.
